We purchased this microwave oven to mainly do jacket potatoes and heat up the odd thing in the winter. I’m not a big fan of microwaves and having mananaged without one for about four years, we didn’t want or need to splash out on a expensive model to only use it very infrequently. As it happens, we have turned out to use it a bit more than we thought – its great for softening potatoes and other veg before putting them to roast in the oven, cutting down the time and the energy required. The facilities are certainly more than we would ever use, but may get around to it slowly. It actually seems to be more efficient and reliable than the last more expensive model we had and it certainly sturdier. What is really surprising for the modest price of it is how fantastic it looks! We have have had guests go off and buy one afterwards, simply because they were impressed at how sexy it looks. The black casing does add an expensive air to the kitchen and its much, much easier to keep clean, and far less clinical and hard looking. I would say that for the money this is an excellantly designed product, for both looks and operation it would be hard to beat, even at a much higher price.

Well, what a bargain! It came in mint conditions, and it also has a nice little power saving feature, when not in use press STOP and it will switch off completely. I haven’t had a MW for quite a few years but I don’t remember such feature on any other ones.

Bought this in November to replace my Proline which had rendered good and faithful service for over twenty years, but which had been showing the signs of old age, slowing down gradually over the last few years. The Daewoo arrived a couple of days after I ordered it – very good service. Setting it up was a breeze, and within a couple of minutes we were ready to go. I bought it to go with my new monochrome kitchen – lots of black units, and it fits in perfectly and looks very stylish and modern. I use a microwave mostly for reheating meals and defrosting, so this just fitted the bill for me. It has a 23 litre capacity, however it has a small footprint and sits unobtrusively in my kitchen. One slight annoyance is that when it has finished cooking it beeps to let you know and then repeats the beep at 30 second intervals until the door is opened, but it is only a very minor gripe. In operation it is very quiet and cooks food quickly and efficiently, and all in all is an excellent machine which I would recommend.

Beautiful, easy to use & takes my large dinner plates.

INTERNAL measurements Width 11″, Depth 11″, Height 8.25″ in centre.

Hope this helps, as when I was buying, I needed the internal dimensions but they weren’t given, so I had to take a chance, but glad I did.

Very pleased I chose this. Looks even better than in the pictures. Fits beautifully into the corner so uses normally unused space and doesn’t take over the work area. Simple to use. Not cheap but well worth the money.

Updated 19th Jan 2009. Microwave has now stopped working at less than a month old. Not sure if just unlucky or whether I was a bit hasty with my praise. Amazon can’t replace at present as not available.

Our last microwave was a cheapo one that lasted about one year. We did without one for a while, however I started getting fed up of my cups of tea going cold and that’s the main reason for us having the microwave oven! We also use it a lot for reheating food that has been made in bulk, and we use the steamer provided to steam veg. Broccoli is even quite tasty using the steam function although don’t expect children to eat it!

I love the look of the oven. My opinion is if we’re having something on display on the worktops it should be attractive. The curved back and compact size makes it fit easily into a corner and the colour is just yummy.

There is a child-proof function whereby the start button will not work unless the door has been opened first to put food in – very handy.

I find it very easy to figure out. You can just plonk your food inside, shut the door, and press the jetstart button to set it off on full power. Keep pressing the jetstart button to increase the time intervals gradually, starting with 30 seconds. I never bother setting the clock as we unplug it a lot and have other kitchen timers anyway.

It may cost more than other ovens but I’m hoping it will last a while, I’ve yet to find out. I can’t think of any negatives about it because we only use it for the reasons stated above. It suits our needs perfectly.

Ten out of ten to Whirlpool for being both retro and contemporary! Being able to colour-coordinate your kitchen gadgets with your kitchen is modern and popular yet this funky piece looks like a red retro TV. The amount of room created on my worktop has made this microwave a winner — it has met its design objective; fitting snugly into the corner. What I like about this is, it’s base/turntable is positioned higher which is good for two reasons: you can see inside easier and keep an eye on your food and the door opens with a 8½cm gap at the bottom — no need to push everything clear of the door in order to swing it open. So I got exactly what I wanted AND the inner capacity is actually more than my Russell Hobbs one which was average-proportioned — my silicone Mastrad® steamer doesn’t hit the walls and knock the glass turntable top off the wheel now. But, this microwave comes with a steamer anyway! The functions are all along the top, and are very easy to set with a single top-centre digital clock. I only wish the clock was illuminated.

We have just moved into a new house and wanted a new microwave but didn’t want to spend a lot of money – until we saw this one!

Money well spent as far as I’m concerned. Looks amazing and everybody comments on how lovely it looks, doesn’t use up a great deal of space and very easy to use.

10 out of 10 for design and performance!

I bought this microwave to finish of the red theme in my kitchen. First thing that hits you when you open the box is the great look. The next thing is the size, its huge. By taking the controls from the side so that it can fit in the corner they have added to the height. Internaly its no bigger than a normal microwave but externaly its a good couple of inches higher, reducing where it can fit on the worktop. The door is flimsy & needs to be re-opened & closed to get it to start cooking. Those are the negatives but in its favour it cooks well, the steamer function is a bonus, its easy to use & it looks really cool in my kitchen. If like me you use a microwave occasionally then this is for you but if you use it daily then you might want to look at others, this is based purely on how long I expect the door to last.
